Me going Wiiiiiiii!

Most of you guys who has been reading my blog for awhile must have known about my craving on Nintendo’s next-gen console, Wii. Just in case you can’t tell, yea, I did bought a Wii of my own! *yipeee!
The console set me back around Rp3.700.000,-. The 7 digits price tag gets me a *cough mo*ed *cough Wii console, a wiimote along with a nunchunk controller, original Wii Sport game, plus all the cables and bits of course (including the sensor), as well as 10 games of my choice. I won’t post lots and lots of pictures on the unpacking process (nothing exciting about it, opened up the box, unpack everything, set it up next to your TV and not your microwave). Took out the wiimote, did some setting (sensor positions, etc etc.. basic stuff) and I was set to go.
I’ve got to say, Wii has been FANTASTIC! The revolutionary controller gives a new perspective on gaming (and yes, it’s a good subtitute for exercise). With Wii, it’s not about button mashing or d-pad controller. It’s about MOVES. Yep, a revolution indeed.
My favourite games so far are Zelda: Twilight Princess, Super Paper Mario, Wii Sport, WarioWare: Smooth Moves, Trauma Centre: Second Opinion, Cooking Mama, and Red Steel. The last one is not actually that great, but I can’t resist a game which lets me fight with a samurai (samurai + wiimote = extreme coolness). Currently I’m deep within Zelda though, the others are, umm.. "sidequests".
Overall, all the hype about Wii are indeed very real. Wii is as good as they said, and if you haven’t got yours today, go and get one. Wii might not have the prettiest graphics (definitely not to be compared with Xbox360 or PS3), but Wii packs quite a punch in the context of gameplay. Go to your nearest video game store, kick away the kid that is hogging the free-for-all Wii stand, and start feeling some Wii-love. You’ll get hooked!
So far so good, Wii has been very satisfying, and I’m not even playing along with my friends yet. Multiplayer will ROCK with Wii!
I’m sorry, but I have to go back and save Princess Zelda. Wii wii ahoyyyyy!
